How to change your life one habit at a time

Since we are all creatures of habit us humans, it stands to reason that the one thing that governs what we do on a daily basis are  our habits.

Everything we do is dictated to by the habits that we have formed over time, both good and bad, but the great news is we are only one good habit away from changing our life.

If you can master this one discipline and learn how to create new good habits, you’ll turn your life around and become much more successful faster than you would ever have imagined.

How to form new habits that stick

This is probably one of the most challenging tasks for people to achieve yet it is relatively simple and not very hard, the difficulty that most people face and I see this every day in coaching online marketers working with local offline business, is maintaining consistency of doing something new regardless of how easy and simple over 21 to 28 days without missing any days.

The mistake that most people make is trying to do too many things at once which makes it virtually impossible for most of us to be able to maintain consistency every day for up to those 28 days.  Think of the new year’s resolutions you’ve had and how motivated and charged you were to make all these new changes yet, the list of things you’re going to change is so BIG there’s not a hope that you would be able to stick to it and because you couldn’t stick to all of them you didn’t change any of them!

By far the best way to create these new habits is to choose the simplest and easiest one to start with; one that you know you will be able to do consistently every day for up to 28 days without fail.  This is the crucial part right here, it doesn’t matter how easy and simple the habit is, you must not miss one single day or you virtually have to start again.

Here is a great example of what I teach some of my coaching students that will help them become much more efficient and productive with their Internet Marketing; and that is create a new habit of checking your email no more than three times per day at specific times.

Although this might seem very simple and you would be amazed at how many online marketers waste so much time checking their email on a daily basis, and it’s not just the time taken to check the your email itself, it’s that time lost by following an email that catches your attention and not only that, is promoting a new product that gets you completely caught up in watching the sales video for example and then going off and spending money unnecessarily and all those time wasting, business destroying activities.

The point here is to choose something that is simple and something that will have a positive impact and affect on your efficiency and productivity and that is why I always get my students to conquer the email time waster first.

There are some tools to help with this and one of those allows you to lock down a programme for a certain amount of time so that you cannot start it even if you want to, I find these programmes excellent because they overcome the urge and force us to stick to our routine.

The funny thing is I have seen this one simple exercise do more for changing someone’s business success and making more money as a result than any other latest trick, tactic and any other activity.

Do whatever it takes to get this DONE and stick to it, you’ll love the outcome.

I am often asked what I would do if all of my businesses were shut down tomorrow and I had to start from scratch, what business model and what online marketing strategy would I choose to get going the fastest.

My answer is always the same!

I would without doubt I would rip into the off-line goldmine system and go get a few clients which would have me back on track and up to a full-time income very quickly, not only that but recurring every month.

firstly as I mentioned it only takes a handful of clients to start making $4-$5000 a month easily, then doing the actual work of producing results for the client is much much easier than trying to compete in the affiliate marketing sphere, the lack of competition is ridiculous in the local search arena and there are thousands upon thousands of local business clients who will happily pay to get a slice of the action online.

Thirdly, this market place of off-line to online marketing is already huge and getting bigger and bigger every single day; not only that, over the next few years just about every business that makes decent money is going to have to get online and get their online marketing done right or risk losing out big time to their competition.

I literally had no idea that this marketing model would become so big so quickly because I’ve been doing off-line and online marketing over 10 years and it’s been a brilliant business system and to most of the part that few of us who’ve been specialising in this prolonged time have had the off-line landscape to ourselves.

Things are changing however slowly hand right now is the perfect time to get involved with selling your easy Internet marketing strategies to local business.

There are quite a few info products popping up all over the place and it’s funny when you’re very experienced in the field to see so many of these products written by people who have obviously very seldom if ever worked in this off-line marketing arena.

This post is a bit longer than I planned but do yourself a favor and read all of it because it just may change your life like it did my buddy Steve!

It’s funny to see all this talk about “Offline Consulting” and some of the products that are coming out at the moment.

I have to laugh when I see people make statements like “this is the easiest business to get started and make a fortune online”, yeah right!

It is painfully obvious that 95%+ of these people don’t really do offline consulting or make their majority of income from working with local business, as someone who has been doing the Offline Goldmine business for over 10 years, it’s real easy to spot.

So a word of caution…. don’t believe a lot of it

Just looking over some of the mind maps and info will make your head spin, I mean you better know a lot about marketing offline business.

Not many people know that I helped my first offline business get online way back in August 1995, they were a lingerie manufacturer (not the worst business to start with), but seriously they need an Internet provider and that’s what we sold as a reseller, the manager was ahead of her time back then, she saw visions of selling direct off a website!

If only she knew how much money that was going to turn into!

All we did was set up an online catalogue mailed her customers to go look at the new website and range of goods.

Now of course not everyone had a computer, however the ones that did, surely bought some product and the rest they say is history…

We knew this was a big winner back then but the sale was tough because online was newish and not that many people had computers and internet.

The beauty for us was being the local inernet reseller and every time I would set up a new business customer with internet I laid the you’ve gotta get online routine on ‘em.

We’ve Been Crushing it With the Offline Goldmine since!
